Lydia Ko and Lottie Woad share the lead at 8-under 136 after two rounds of the LPGA's season-opening Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in Orlando. However, a freeze watch is in effect for the area on Sunday, with temperatures expected to plummet and winds gusting up to 25 mph, leading to a reduced field for the final round.
Why it matters
The freezing forecast poses a significant challenge for the players, who will have to adapt their game plans and equipment to the harsh conditions. This could shake up the leaderboard and create an exciting finish to the tournament.
The details
Ko, the 2024 champion, and Woad, a first-time TOC participant, have separated themselves from the pack through the first two days. Overnight leader Nasa Hataoka and Amy Yang are tied for third. The final-round tee times will be pushed back considerably, and the celebrity field will be reduced from 30 to 21 players due to the weather.
