Following Saturday's 74th 12 Hours of Sebring endurance race, the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac V-Series R, driven by Ricky Taylor, Will Stevens, and Filipe Albuquerque, was stripped of its podium finish after failing post-race technical inspection. The car was found to have camber in excess of the permitted tire pressure limit and was moved to the back of the GTP class as a result.
Why it matters
This disqualification is a significant blow to Wayne Taylor Racing, who were hoping to bounce back from a disappointing DNF at the Rolex 24. The No. 10 car's podium finish would have been a welcome recovery, but the technical infraction has now cost them that result.
The details
During the 12-hour race, the No. 31 Cadillac Whelen of Jack Aitken, Earl Bamber, and Frederik Vesti, which had started on pole, was elevated to the podium following the No. 10 Cadillac's disqualification. The No. 31 Cadillac had battled back from contact with the No. 6 Porsche 963 to run in third place for much of the race.
