Porsche and Team Penske will field two Porsche 963 race cars in distinct takes on the same livery, both paying tribute to the 30-year anniversary of Porsche's racing relationship with Mobil 1. The liveries are inspired by the 911 GT1 racers from 1996, featuring blue, red, and white colored swirls over a white background.
Why it matters
This special livery is part of a larger 75th anniversary celebration of Porsche's motorsport endeavors. The factory Porsche 963 program has run six full seasons of racing over the past three years, and this is only the second ever alternate livery for these cars.

The two 963 race cars will feature distinct blocks of color on top - one in the usual red seen on the team's typical factory livery, and the other in a unique shade of blue. The heavily favored Porsche Penske Motorsports team is coming off a third consecutive overall win at Daytona and is leading the championship, making this a key race for the manufacturer.
