Miami-based Crown Linen, a major supplier of laundered linens to the hotel industry, is opening a new 50,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art laundry facility in Pompano Beach, Florida. The plant will have the capacity to process 30 million pounds of laundry per year and is expected to create up to 175 new jobs, including laundry operators, managers, drivers, mechanics, and office support.

Why it matters

The new Crown Linen facility in Pompano Beach will serve as a strategic hub for the company to service its growing list of hotel clients across South Florida, including in Broward, Pompano, and the Palm Beaches. The plant's advanced automation and sustainability features, such as water recirculation systems, align with the demands of major hotel brands for reliable, efficient, and environmentally-conscious laundry services.

The details

Crown Linen's new Pompano Beach laundry facility will use automated 'tunnel washers' that can process 150 pounds of linens every 90 seconds for each step of the cleaning process, allowing a batch of linens to go from soiled to clean in about 28 minutes. The plant also features automated folding and laser-guided technology for sheets, pillowcases, napkins, and towels. Additionally, the facility reuses about half of the water used in the initial laundering process through its water recirculation systems.

  • Crown Linen expects to start initial operations at the new Pompano Beach facility in March 2026.
  • The company plans to begin hiring up to 175 people, including laundry operators, managers, drivers, mechanics, and office support, in the coming months.
