The 2026 CEBS Alumni Award recipients are: Dr. Ted Maple '96, vice president of education at Lilly Endowment; Dr. Misty Spitler '08, clinical psychologist, professor, and sports photographer; Sonya Ware-Meguiar '89, CEO of Girls Inc. of Johnson County; and Jason Todd '95, medical device sales executive. Each honoree has leveraged their UIndy education to reach remarkable career milestones and make a lasting impact through service, leadership, and innovation.

The players

Dr. Ted Maple

A 1996 graduate of UIndy's elementary education program, Dr. Maple has had a distinguished career that includes teaching, directing early childhood programs, leading United Way education initiatives, and now serving as vice president for education at Lilly Endowment.

Dr. Misty Spitler

A 2008 graduate of UIndy's clinical psychology doctoral program, Dr. Spitler has built a career spanning clinical practice, teaching, professional leadership, and even sports photography.

Sonya Ware-Meguiar

A 1989 graduate of UIndy's social work program, Ware-Meguiar has over 38 years of experience in the nonprofit sector and has served as CEO of Girls Inc. of Johnson County for the past 18 years, mentoring the next generation of female leaders.

Jason Todd

A 1995 UIndy graduate, Todd played football for the university on a scholarship and has gone on to have a successful career in human resources and medical device sales, earning multiple President's Club awards.
