The Farm Journal Foundation marked National Ag Day in Washington D.C. with a groundbreaking celebration at the Voice of the Farmer Garden exhibit, located at the U.S. Department of Agriculture's headquarters on the National Mall. The exhibit showcases major U.S. crops and teaches visitors about agriculture's contributions. Lawmakers also introduced new legislation to incentivize biobased chemical production, and NASDA hired a new communications coordinator.

Why it matters

The Voice of the Farmer Garden exhibit aims to educate the public about the importance of American agriculture in providing food security, nutrition, and economic growth. The new biobased materials bill could create new markets for farmers, while NASDA's communications hire will help raise awareness of state agriculture departments' work.
