The remodel of the OCPS Orlando Gifted Academy, which serves intellectually gifted students in grades two through eight, is now 60% complete. A 60% Design Community Meeting will be held on April 14 at the academy's temporary home on the Orange Technical College Winter Park campus to provide an update on the $56.2 million project.

The Orlando Gifted Academy is the only public stand-alone magnet school for gifted students in the Central Florida area, providing a rigorous and challenging curriculum. The remodel will improve facilities for the approximately 800 students enrolled at the school.
The details
The remodel includes a new multistory 100,000-square-foot building at the 1121 N. Fern Creek Ave. campus, which was previously the site of Fern Creek Elementary School. The project began nearly one year ago and is now 60% complete.
