This summer, chef-owner William Shen will debut his new Japanese convenience store concept, UniMart, inside the bustling East End Market food hall in Orlando. Guests can expect to find an array of Japanese snacks and goods, plus freshly prepared to-go fare like tamago sandos, konbini fried chicken, bento boxes, and more.
Why it matters
The opening of UniMart will fill a void in the Orlando market for a one-stop shop for Japanese snacks, drinks, and prepared foods. It also represents an expansion of the popular Mills Market food hall concept, which has become a destination for unique dining and retail experiences.
The details
UniMart will be situated next to Shen's 10-seat sushi counter, Okonomi, and will keep the same hours as Mills Market - 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The market will also debut two new additions: Em Fleur, a flower shop specializing in modern Asian floral artistry, and Karats by Kim, a rebrand of Tien Hung Jewelry.
- UniMart is slated to open inside Mills Market this summer.
- Mills Market has been operating in Orlando's East End Market since 2016.
