Sharp has unveiled a new high-speed cooking technology called the 'Golden Heater' at the KBIS 2026 kitchen and bath showcase in Orlando. The Celerity High-Speed Oven uses a combination of convection, microwave, and infrared heating to cook food up to three times faster than a traditional convection oven, including roasting a 5-pound chicken in just 30 minutes.
Why it matters
This new cooking technology represents a significant advancement in oven efficiency and speed, potentially transforming home cooking by dramatically reducing prep and cook times. The Celerity oven's ability to quickly and evenly cook a variety of foods could appeal to busy home cooks looking to save time without sacrificing quality.
The details
The Celerity oven's 'golden heater' technology combines traditional convection heating with microwave and infrared heat to penetrate food quickly and crisp the outside. This allows the oven to bake cookies in 9 minutes, compared to 15 minutes in a regular convection oven. The oven is also smaller than a standard oven, closer to the size of a microwave. Sharp says the oven requires minimal preheating time when using the golden heater mode.
