Central Florida is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Black History Month with a variety of events and exhibits across Orlando. The lineup includes art shows, jazz concerts, spoken word poetry, and family-friendly activities highlighting the contributions of Black artists, animators, and community leaders.

The celebration kicks off with the City of Orlando's Black History Month Community Celebration on February 10th, featuring performances, food, and a reception at the Plaza Live. Other highlights include a genre-blending jazz concert by Jeremiah Hunt's K.I.M. group, a spoken word poetry event at the Dr. Phillips Center, and a sensory-friendly program at the Orange County Regional History Center celebrating Black animators and storytellers. The city is also hosting a visual art exhibition at Orlando City Hall featuring the work of 28 local artists.
