A new limited TV series is in development that will dramatize the Miami Herald's groundbreaking investigation into Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking ring and the secret plea deal that allowed him to avoid federal prosecution for years. Academy Award winner Laura Dern is attached to star as the lead investigative reporter, Julie K. Brown, whose reporting exposed Epstein's crimes and led to his eventual arrest.

The details

The untitled series is based on Julie K. Brown's book 'Perversion of Justice: The Jeffrey Epstein Story' and will follow her years-long investigation that identified over 80 victims, persuaded key survivors to go on the record, and ultimately led to Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell's arrests. Screenwriter Sharon Hoffman will write the project and serve as co-showrunner with Eileen Myres, while Adam McKay will executive produce alongside Dern and Brown.
