The 2025/26 Formula E championship continues its global tour with a double-header event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on February 13th and 14th. This marks the first night races of the season, which have already seen three different winners in the first three events. The races will feature the return of the game-changing PIT BOOST technology, where drivers must strategically time a 30-second pit stop to receive a 10% energy boost. The modified Jeddah Corniche Circuit, previously used for Formula 1, promises a speedy and technical layout that will challenge the drivers. Formula E will also host its popular EVO Sessions, inviting content creators to experience the thrill of the all-electric GEN3 Evo race car.
Why it matters
The Jeddah E-Prix double-header is a crucial event in the 2025/26 Formula E season, as the championship battle remains wide open with the top five drivers separated by just seven points. The return of PIT BOOST will add a new strategic element, forcing teams to carefully manage their energy usage and pit stop timing. Night racing also presents unique challenges, from tyre temperature management to improved battery efficiency. Additionally, the EVO Sessions aim to broaden the appeal of Formula E by engaging a new audience of content creators and their followers.
The details
The Jeddah Corniche Circuit has been modified for Formula E, with a shortened track length of 3.001 km and the addition of chicanes. This creates a speedy and technical layout that will test the drivers' skills. The mandatory PIT BOOST stop, where drivers receive a 10% energy boost, will force teams to strategize when to take the pit stop, as the energy must be added when the State of Charge (SoC) is between 40% and 60%. This adds a new layer of complexity to energy management, as teams will be limited to a single PIT BOOST rig, preventing double-stacking. Additionally, only one ATTACK MODE activation will be available during the PIT BOOST races this season.
- The Jeddah E-Prix double-header will take place on February 13th and 14th, 2026.
- Free Practice 2 will be held at 13:30 local time (10:30 UTC) on February 13th.
- Qualifying will take place at 15:40 local time (12:40 UTC) on both February 13th and 14th.
- The races will start at 20:05 local time (17:05 UTC) on both February 13th and 14th.
