Blakely Hammel, the Varsity 4 All-News4JAX girls swimmer of the year, is a junior at Episcopal who has already committed to the University of Florida. She defended her title in the 100 free and added a championship in the 200 free, slicing nearly 3 seconds off her best time. Hammel's dedication to the sport is unparalleled, with a grueling training schedule that includes two-a-day practices several times a week, on top of her demanding academic workload at Episcopal.

Hammel dropped an impressive 4 seconds off her best time in that event, clocking in at 1:45.69 - the second fastest time in the nation.
