The Jacksonville Jaguars have added two new coaches to their staff, hiring Mathieu Araujo as defensive pass game coordinator and Brian Picucci as offensive run game coordinator. Araujo previously worked with the Miami Dolphins, while Picucci comes from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he had ties to Jaguars head coach Liam Coen.

Why it matters

These hires are part of the Jaguars' efforts to rebuild their coaching staff and improve the team's performance on both offense and defense after a disappointing season. Araujo and Picucci bring valuable experience and familiarity with some of the Jaguars' key personnel.

The details

Araujo spent the last four seasons with the Dolphins, serving as their cornerbacks coach for the past two years. He had interviewed for the defensive coordinator job with the Jets, but they ultimately hired his former Miami colleague Brian Duker instead. Picucci was the offensive line coach for the Buccaneers in 2025 and their assistant line coach in 2024, reuniting him with Coen, who was the Bucs' offensive coordinator in 2024 and also worked with Picucci at Kentucky in 2023.
