Housing Trust Group (HTG) and former Miami Heat player Alonzo Mourning's AM Affordable Housing have secured $32 million in construction financing and $44.7 million in permanent financing to build an affordable senior housing community called Villa Jordana in Hollywood, Florida. The 96-unit development will reserve apartments for seniors aged 62 and older earning between 33-60% of the area's median income, with rents ranging from $713 to $1,555 per month.

Why it matters

As South Florida's senior population continues to grow, the need for high-quality, affordable housing options has become increasingly urgent. This project from HTG and Mourning's nonprofit aims to address that need by providing accessible and income-restricted units for low-income seniors in the Hollywood area.

The details

Villa Jordana will be located at 826 South Dixie Highway, about a mile north of the Big Easy Casino. The $47 million development will include 7 fully accessible units for people with disabilities, 5 units designed for residents with mobility impairments, and 2 units for those with hearing or vision impairments. Amenities will include a pool and fitness center. Capital One provided the $32 million construction loan and $10.2 million permanent loan, with additional financing from the City of Hollywood and the Florida Housing Finance Corporation.

  • HTG purchased the site for $3.6 million in 2024.
  • Construction is slated to be completed in 2027.
