LC State Track and Field Sends Strong Contingent to NAIA Indoor Nationals
Warriors have three individuals and two relays competing at the 2026 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Gainesville, Florida.

The LC State Track and Field team has arrived in Gainesville, Florida for the 2026 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships. The Warriors are sending three individuals from each gender as well as a pair of relay teams to compete at the national meet. The group is led by senior standouts Jedidiah Barnaby, Madigan Kelly, Emily Collins, and Kobe Wessels.

The details
Barnaby enters the meet as the highest-ranked Warrior, sitting third in the NAIA in the 60m dash with a school-record time of 6.70 seconds. Kelly ranks seventh in the 60m hurdles, while Wessels is eighth in the 1000m. Collins is in the top 15 in the 600m, and Camille Ussher will race in the 800m. Trenton Johnson will compete in the triple jump. The women’s 4x800m relay and men’s 4x400m relay teams also qualified for the national meet.
- The relays will run their preliminary heats on Thursday, with the women at 11:45 a.m. PT and the men at 1:15 p.m. PT.
- The individual events will take place on Friday, with the finals scheduled for Saturday, except for the women’s 4x800m relay final on Friday.

Jedidiah Barnaby
A senior sprinter for the LC State Warriors, Barnaby enters the meet as the highest-ranked Warrior in any event. He shattered the school record in the 60m dash and ranks third in the NAIA this season with a time of 6.70 seconds.
Madigan Kelly
A senior hurdler for the LC State women’s team, Kelly ranks seventh in the NAIA in the 60m hurdles after a season off due to injury. She has a season-best time of 8.63 seconds in the event.
Emily Collins
A senior sprinter for the LC State women’s team, Collins is in the top 15 in the NAIA heading into the 600m event. She ran a converted time of 1:34.70 to earn her spot at nationals.
Kobe Wessels
A senior distance runner for the LC State men’s team, Wessels is the eighth-ranked runner this season in the 1000m. He ran the third-best time in school history this season with a raw time of 2:29.88.
Trenton Johnson
The lone field athlete for LC State at the meet, Johnson is ranked No. 21 in the NAIA in the triple jump. He bested his own school record with a mark of 14.57m this season.
What’s next
The individual event finals will occur on Saturday, with the exception of the women's 4x800m relay final on Friday.
