Nine former Florida Gators football players have been invited to participate in the upcoming NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. The group is headlined by defensive tackle Caleb Banks, who is considered a potential first-round draft pick, and also includes cornerback Devin Moore, center Jake Slaughter, and offensive tackle Austin Barber.
Why it matters
Despite the Gators' disappointing 4-8 season in 2025 that led to a coaching change, the program will still have a strong presence at the annual NFL pre-draft showcase event. The invitations highlight the talent that remains on the Florida roster and give these players a chance to boost their draft stock through their combine performances.
The details
The nine Gators invited to the combine are: Caleb Banks (DT), Devin Moore (CB), Jake Slaughter (C), Austin Barber (OT), J. Michael Sturdivant (WR), George Gumbs Jr. (Edge), Tyreak Sapp (Edge), Trey Smack (K), and Tommy Doman Jr. (P). Banks, a potential first-round pick, had a strong showing at the Senior Bowl after his 2025 season was limited by a foot injury. Moore, Slaughter, and Barber are also expected to be drafted, potentially on Day 2.
- The NFL Scouting Combine is scheduled for February 23 - March 2, 2026 in Indianapolis.
- Banks performed well at the Senior Bowl in January 2026 ahead of the combine.
