Discount airline Breeze Airways announced it will add eight new routes out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, including new nonstop service to Tallahassee, Jacksonville, and Tampa. The airline is also increasing existing service to Pensacola. The expansion marks Breeze's continued growth in Florida, with the total number of destinations served from FLL reaching 13.
Why it matters
Breeze's expansion at FLL comes as the airport has seen a decline in passenger traffic in recent years, with the bankruptcy of hometown carrier Spirit Airlines and the cessation of operations by regional carrier Silver Airways. The new Breeze routes provide more low-cost options for travelers in the region and help offset some of the losses in air service at FLL.
The details
The new Breeze routes from FLL will launch in early July and include nonstop service to Tallahassee (3 days per week), Jacksonville (daily), and Tampa (13 times weekly). The airline is also increasing existing service to Pensacola from twice weekly to six times weekly. In addition, Breeze is adding several new out-of-state destinations from FLL, including Birmingham, AL, Charleston, SC, Greenville-Spartanburg, SC, Salisbury, MD, and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA.
- The new Breeze routes will launch in early July 2026.
