The inaugural 2026 Broward County Girls Flag Football Classic is set to take place on February 20-21 in South Florida. The event is organized by the same team behind the popular Broward County High School Football Classic and will feature 23 teams competing across three brackets - MSAA, JDCH, and Dave & Buster's.

Why it matters

Florida has been a leader in sanctioning high school girls flag football for over 20 years, and this new showcase aims to provide female student-athletes with the same level of exposure, competition, and opportunity as the original Broward County National High School Football Showcase. The event is also supported by the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars, who are hosting preseason kickoff classics this week.

The details

The 12 games will be played across the two-day event, with the MSAA Bracket games on Friday and the JDCH and Dave & Buster's Bracket games on Friday and Saturday. Some of the matchups include Dillard vs. Tequesta Trace, Cypress Bay vs. West Broward, and Chaminade-Madonna vs. Stoneman Douglas.
