The Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller in Palm Beach County, Florida is offering a temporary amnesty program called Operation Green Light that will waive the 25% collection agency fees on overdue traffic tickets and court fines from March 2-6. This will allow residents with suspended licenses to pay off their debts and get back on the road legally.
Why it matters
Many drivers in Palm Beach County have had their licenses suspended due to unpaid traffic tickets and fines, making it difficult for them to legally drive to work, school, or other essential destinations. Operation Green Light provides a window of opportunity for these residents to resolve their outstanding debts without the added burden of collection agency fees.
The details
During Operation Green Light, residents can pay their overdue tickets and fines in full, either online or by phone. Once the debt is paid, many driver's licenses can be reinstated the same day. Florida law requires the Clerk's office to turn unpaid tickets and fines over to a collection agency after 90 days, and those who don't pay may also face license suspension.
- Operation Green Light will run from March 2-6, 2026.
- The program originated in Palm Beach County in November 2014 before expanding statewide.
