According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Adams was driving a 2024 Chevrolet Trax westbound on Sandalfoot Boulevard when the vehicle drifted across the center turn lane and into the path of Acevedo's eastbound electric scooter. The front passenger side of the Chevy struck the scooter, causing Acevedo to be vaulted into the air. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said alcohol and drugs were considered factors in the crash.
