After coming up just short of a state championship last season, Jupiter High's baseball team is back with a new roster but the same goal: finish the job. Led by standout pitcher Ethan Trivison and power-hitting center fielder Griffin Miller, the Warriors have reloaded with several key transfers and are determined to win the state title that eluded them in 2025.
Why it matters
Jupiter High has emerged as one of the top baseball programs in Florida, but last year's heartbreaking loss in the state title game left the team hungry to get back and win it all. The Warriors' ability to reload with talent and stay competitive despite heavy roster turnover shows the strength of their program and the community's commitment to high school sports.
The details
Jupiter High lost 16 seniors from last year's 25-win team, including several key offensive contributors. But the Warriors still have a strong core led by left-handed pitcher Ethan Trivison, who went 10-3 with a 2.42 ERA last season, and center fielder Griffin Miller, who hit 11 home runs. The team also added several high-profile transfers, including catcher Dom Demarzo from Cardinal Newman, to bolster the lineup and pitching staff. Head coach Joe Giummule is willing to sacrifice some regular-season wins to prepare his team for another deep playoff run.
- Jupiter High lost to Parkland-Stoneman Douglas 3-2 in the 2025 Class 7A state championship game.
- The Warriors open the 2026 season with a challenging schedule that includes six teams ranked higher than them in the Prep Baseball Report preseason poll.
The players
Ethan Trivison
A 6-foot-4 left-handed pitcher who has been committed to Clemson since his freshman year. He went 10-3 with a 2.42 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 63 2/3 innings last season.
Griffin Miller
The team's center fielder, who hit 11 home runs (three more than any other player in Palm Beach County) and batted .349 last season. He is a Wake Forest commit and a projected MLB draft pick.
Colby Young
A senior shortstop who earned a starting job during Jupiter's preseason last year but missed the entire season due to a hand injury. He has committed to South Alabama.
Dom Demarzo
A three-year varsity starter at catcher who joins Jupiter for his senior season after playing at Wellington and Cardinal Newman. He has committed to North Florida.
Joe Giummule
Jupiter's second-year head coach, who is willing to sacrifice some regular-season wins to better prepare his team for the playoffs.
What they’re saying
“Ever since that game, that's all we've been talking about. Something we've been saying a lot is we have unfinished business. ... That's the one goal we have here, getting back there and finishing the job.”
— Ethan Trivison, Pitcher (Yahoo Sports)
“He goes, we go. He's the sparkplug. He's the best hitter in Palm Beach County and he's a projected draft pick, so we need him to play at that level.”
— Joe Giummule, Head Coach (Yahoo Sports)
“It sucked that I couldn't help out. I definitely think I could have contributed a lot to the team last year. ... I have a great feeling about this year.”
— Colby Young, Shortstop (Yahoo Sports)
What’s next
The judge in the case will decide on Tuesday whether or not to allow Walker Reed Quinn out on bail.
The takeaway
This Jupiter High baseball team is driven by the bitter taste of last year's state championship loss, and they've reloaded with talent to make another run at the title. Their ability to overcome heavy roster turnover and stay among the county's elite programs speaks to the strength of the program and the community's commitment to high school sports.
