Chewy Bark Park, the first-ever dog park opened by Chewy, celebrated its grand opening on January 31 in Coral Gables, Florida. The 17,000-square-foot park features cooling turf, agility elements, and designated areas for small and large dogs, and is the newest addition to The Underline, Miami's 10-mile linear park project.
Why it matters
The opening of Chewy Bark Park marks an important milestone in The Underline's continued growth, providing a new community gathering space and pet-friendly amenity for Coral Gables and South Florida residents. As nearly 60% of The Underline's visitors are dog owners, the new park aligns with the project's mission to connect people, pets, and neighborhoods through community and wellness.
The details
The grand opening celebration drew over 500 pet parents and their pups, featuring playtime, pup cups, photo moments, local food vendors, pet CPR demonstrations, and adoptable dogs from Miami-Dade Animal Services. An official leash-cutting ceremony included remarks from Coral Gables Mayor Vince Lago, Eulois Cleckley of Friends of The Underline, and Lisa-Marie Curti of Chewy.
