Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on Sunday afternoon in Cecil County. A 17-year-old female passenger from Wilmington, Delaware was killed when the Kawasaki motorcycle she was riding on attempted to pass another motorcycle and collided with it. The driver of the Kawasaki and the other motorcycle rider were both transported to a local hospital with injuries.

According to the preliminary investigation, the Kawasaki motorcycle with the 17-year-old female passenger was traveling southbound on Maryland Route 213 when it attempted to pass a Yamaha motorcycle also traveling southbound. The Kawasaki then struck the left side of the Yamaha, resulting in the fatal crash. The roadway was closed for over an hour while police investigated the scene.
