According to prosecutors, Ian Zephyrin entered a CVS store, placed merchandise into a reusable bag, and left without paying. When police located Zephyrin nearby and attempted to make an arrest, he allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked the officers, striking one in the elbow and forehead and requiring more than 50 stitches. Zephyrin also threatened another officer with the knife and threw it at a third officer before being taken into custody.
