Former UConn men's basketball star Hasheem Thabeet will be the next player inducted into the Huskies of Honor, the program's hall of fame. Thabeet, who played for the Huskies from 2006-09, was a dominant shot-blocker and post scorer, earning numerous accolades including being named the 2009 Big East Player of the Year. He holds the UConn record for most blocks in a single game with 10, a feat he accomplished on three separate occasions. Thabeet was drafted 2nd overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2009 NBA Draft and played five seasons in the NBA before continuing his professional career overseas.
