Gail Elizabeth (Masciantonio) Welsh, a 61-year-old resident of Mashpee and former Hopkinton resident, passed away on January 28, 2026. She was born in New Haven, Connecticut and grew up in Hamden, graduating from Hamden High School in 1982. Gail went on to earn a B.A. in primary education from the University of Vermont and an MBA from the University of Connecticut, before beginning a career in computer systems analysis and training at Andersen Consulting. She later married fellow UVM alumnus Jared 'Jay' Welsh and the couple put down roots in Hopkinton, where Gail was a devoted mother, teacher, and community member.
