Greeley's annual Spring Clean-Up event is returning in May with a few new rules and restrictions. The event, which runs over two days at the Island Grove Regional Park site, will no longer accept household trash, bagged trash, or more than one appliance containing freon. However, the city will still accept appliances, furniture, mattresses, scrap metal, and tires under 20 inches with rims removed. Additional fees may apply for certain items.

Why it matters

The changes to Greeley's Spring Clean-Up are aimed at improving safety and encouraging more efficient drop-offs during the popular community event. By restricting certain items, the city hopes to streamline the process and better manage the influx of materials.

The details

The Spring Clean-Up will take place on Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Island Grove Regional Park site. Admission is $25 per car or pickup truck load, or $35 per trailer. The city will accept cash, checks, and credit cards. In addition to the restrictions on household trash and freon-containing appliances, the event will also accept green waste, including yard debris, branches, and grass clippings, at the Greeley Organic Waste (GROW) Center.
