Family Medicine Physician Joins Adventist Health Ukiah Valley

Adventist Health Ukiah Valley has announced the hiring of family medicine physician Dr. Holly Astin. Astin will provide comprehensive family care, as well as chronic disease management for conditions that include diabetes, asthma and high blood pressure. In addition to seeing patients in the clinic, Astin will work in the hospital to ensure continuity of care and serve as faculty with the Family Medicine Residency Program, working closely with resident physicians.

The details

Astin earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health at San Antonio and completed her residency training in family medicine in the rural track at the University of Colorado in the town of Fort Morgan. During her training, she worked with diverse populations in both urban and small-town settings. Astin stated that 'Mendocino County felt like the perfect combination' where she could 'work with a diverse population and still be part of a close-knit community while teaching residents'.
