Durango Library Hosts HOA Education Program

Event will empower local property owners to learn about quality community associations.

Durango Public Library is hosting an in-person event called 'What Does a Quality HOA Look Like?' on April 14th from 6-7:30 PM. The event aims to educate local homeowners on the definition and purpose of community associations, the roles and responsibilities of board members and homeowners, and how to evaluate an association's health.

As more residential communities in Durango are governed by homeowners associations (HOAs), POAs, and other community organizations, this educational program provides an important opportunity for property owners to learn about their rights and responsibilities, as well as how to identify a well-run association.

The event will cover topics such as the primary purpose of a community association, the roles of board members and homeowners, and how to assess an association's overall health. The program will be hosted by Alex Whittow, CMCA, of Reliance Management LLC.
