The Eagles' roster is about to look very different, with 18 players set to hit the restricted or unrestricted free-agent market this offseason. The front office has already moved to lock in one cornerstone, inking Jordan Davis to a three-year, $78 million extension, but plenty of work remains. The new league year is less than 48 hours away, and before the frenzy hits, the article lists 10 street free agents - players released as salary-cap casualties - who make sense for Philadelphia to target.
Why it matters
The Eagles are facing a wave of roster turnover this offseason, with several key players set to hit free agency. By targeting recently released players, the team can add experienced depth and value to their roster before the main free agency period begins.
The details
The 10 players mentioned include offensive linemen Alijah Vera-Tucker, Lloyd Cushenberry, Mekhi Becton, James Daniels, and Alex Cappa, cornerbacks Trevon Diggs, Marshon Lattimore, and Taron Johnson, linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, tight end Jonnu Smith, and defensive back Taylor Rapp. Each player was recently released by their previous team, creating salary cap space.

The players
Alijah Vera-Tucker
An offensive lineman who earned three straight seasons of 70.0-plus PFF overall grades and allowed the fourth-lowest pressure rate (2.8 percent) among guards in 2024 before his 2025 injury.
Trevon Diggs
A cornerback who was released by the Packers in January after playing two games in Green Bay. Diggs, who was waived by the Cowboys on December 30, hasn't played a full 17-game season since 2022, and just 22 games since signing a five-year, $97 million extension with Dallas in 2023.
Marshon Lattimore
A former Pro Bowl cornerback who was released by Washington, saving $18.5 million on the salary cap for 2026. Lattimore joined the Commanders in a 2024 midseason trade, but was limited to two appearances due to a hamstring injury, and nine games in 2025 before tearing his ACL in early November.
Tremaine Edmunds
A veteran linebacker with over 900 career tackles who was released by the Bears, creating $15 million in cap space for the team. Edmunds led the Bears with 112 tackles last season despite missing four games with a groin injury.
Lloyd Cushenberry
A center who was released by the Titans due to a failed physical examination. Cushenberry played in 23 games for the Titans over the past two seasons, including 15 games in 2025, after spending four seasons with the Denver Broncos.
The takeaway
By targeting recently released players, the Eagles can add experienced depth and value to their roster before the main free agency period begins, as they face a wave of roster turnover this offseason.
