Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray has been named an NBA All-Star for the first time in his 9-year career. Murray, 28, is having a standout season, averaging career-highs in points (25.8), shooting percentage (49.2%), 3-point percentage (44.7%), rebounds (4.3), and assists (7.4) while leading the Nuggets through an injury-plagued season.
Why it matters
Murray's first All-Star selection is a significant milestone in his career, recognizing his development into one of the league's top young guards. His selection, along with teammate Nikola Jokić, marks the first time the Nuggets have had two All-Stars since 2010.
The details
Murray was the 7th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft out of Kentucky. This season, he has already topped 30 points 13 times, beating his previous career-high of 11, and is one of a dozen players to score 50 or more points in a game. He has also recorded 11 double-digit assist games, a new career-high.
- Murray was named an NBA All-Star on February 2, 2026.
- The 2026 NBA All-Star Game will be held at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California next weekend.

Nikola Jokić
The Denver Nuggets' star center, who was named an NBA All-Star starter last week. Murray and Jokić are the first pair of Nuggets teammates selected to the All-Star Game since 2010.
David Adelman
The head coach of the Denver Nuggets, who praised Murray's development and selection to the All-Star Game.
What they’re saying
“When I saw that, so many things went through my mind, just multiple 50-point games, multiple 50-point games in the playoffs, triple-double in the Finals, NBA champion, most wins in the West over the last 10 years, he's the point guard of that team, 55-point (game) last year, (career-high) 17 assists (in a game) this year, NBA All-Star.”
— David Adelman, Head Coach, Denver Nuggets (nba.com)
“Your body is at its best when it's not just the physical part, it's your mind. And he's played the game so clean. … I think it's his body, but I also think it's his mind. He's just not fighting anything, he's just playing. And the guy's so talented, when he takes what's given to him, so much success can happen.”
— David Adelman, Head Coach, Denver Nuggets (nba.com)
