Google Fiber, now increasingly referred to as 'GFiber', is upgrading its internet service to start at 3 Gig as part of its multi-gig future, beginning in Des Moines. The 'Core 1 Gig' plan is now called 'Core 3 Gig' at the same $70 per month price, while 'Home 3 Gig' is now 'Home 5 Gig' at $100 per month. GFiber is also offering a new 'Edge 8 Gig' plan at $150 per month.
Why it matters
