In downtown Vacaville, the courtyard at Journey Coffee transformed into a stage for a performance by students from Alina's Music Studio, who played a selection of Bach's compositions as part of the worldwide Bach in the Subways event. Families and friends gathered to listen to the young musicians, who played violin pieces ranging from ensemble chorales to the first movement of Bach's Double Violin Concerto.

Why it matters

The Bach in the Subways event is a grassroots movement aimed at bringing classical music out of the concert hall and into public spaces, exposing more people to the timeless works of the legendary composer. For Alina's Music Studio, this performance was an opportunity to showcase their students' talents and share their passion for classical music with the local community.

The details

The students from Alina's Music Studio, dressed in matching shirts with the slogan 'Stay calm and practice, practice, practice!', performed a total of 13 pieces during the event. Between numbers, individual soloists stepped forward to perform with poise and skill. • The event took place on Saturday afternoon, March 28, 2026.
