The Carson City, Nevada, Host Lions Club and the Higgins Diggins Lions Club in Grass Valley are launching a multi-faceted community initiative in South Lake Tahoe and Stateline. This includes providing free vision screenings, establishing eyeglass recycling boxes at local businesses, and working to establish a new Lions Club focused on health, environment, and youth development.

The details

The Lions clubs will offer free vision screenings at the Community Health Fair on March 28, with the goal of promoting early detection and raising awareness about eye health. They have also placed eyeglass recycling boxes at several local businesses, where donated glasses will be refurbished and distributed to those in need around the world. Looking ahead, the Lions are working to establish a new club in the South Lake Tahoe and Stateline area, focused on health, environment, and youth development.

• The free vision screenings will take place on March 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Kahle Community Center.
• The Meet and Greet for the new Lions Club is scheduled for April 4 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the El Dorado County Library in South Lake Tahoe.
