The Ferrari 849 Testarossa is a high-performance hybrid supercar that builds on the platform and powertrain of the SF90 Stradale, but with a more emotive design and driving experience. While the numbers may be similar on paper, the 849 delivers a more visceral and thrilling driving experience, especially on the racetrack where its active dynamics systems and powerful hybrid powertrain come into their own.

The details

The 849 Testarossa shares its 104.3-inch wheelbase and overall dimensions with the SF90, but features a radically different exterior design that pays homage to the classic 1980s Testarossa. Under the skin, it uses the same hybrid powertrain, but with tweaks to the twin-turbo V8 that boost power and torque to 819 hp and 621 lb-ft. The three electric motors provide an additional 217 hp for a combined output of 1036 hp. On the track, the 849's active aero and dynamic systems help it put the power down, but the cold, damp conditions meant plenty of wheelspin and opposite lock was required. On the road, the 849 feels more polished and playful than the clinical SF90, with a more natural transition between combustion and electric power.
