Keysight Technologies has announced a new GDDR7 transmitter compliance solution that enables faster validation of JEDEC standards for graphics and AI applications. The solution leverages PAM3 signaling to enable higher bandwidth while reducing channel complexity, but requires new test approaches to ensure signal integrity and interoperability at ultra-high data rates.
Why it matters
Growing demand for high-performance computing, gaming, and AI platforms is driving memory and GPU vendors to adopt GDDR7, but the transition is creating significant validation challenges. Keysight's new solution aims to address this bottleneck and help organizations validate designs while accelerating time-to-market.
The details
Keysight's GDDR7 transmitter test solution consists of D9370GDDC software that runs on Keysight's UXR oscilloscope series and automates debug and characterization of GDDR7 transmitter designs to ensure compliance with JEDEC JESD239 specifications. The solution enables accurate PAM3 signal analysis and timing measurements, allowing engineers to validate and optimize high-speed memory transmitter designs for next-generation GPUs and memory devices.
- Keysight announced the new solution on February 17, 2026.
The players
Keysight Technologies, Inc.
A technology company that provides electronic design and test instruments, software, and services. It is an S&P 500 company that enables customers in various industries to accelerate innovation.
JEDEC
The Joint Electron Device Engineering Council, a standards organization for the microelectronics industry.
What they’re saying
“By bringing precise, PAM3-aware SNDR measurements to GDDR7 compliance, Keysight is helping the industry shorten validation cycles, reduce interoperability risk, and deliver reliable bandwidth despite increasingly complex channels.”
— Dr. Joachim Peerlings, Vice President and General Manager, Network and Datacenter Solutions, Keysight (Keysight Press Release)
What’s next
The new GDDR7 transmitter test solution will be demonstrated at Keysight's booth (#1039) at DesignCon 2026, Feb. 24-26.
The takeaway
Keysight's new GDDR7 transmitter compliance solution aims to help the industry overcome the validation challenges posed by the transition to PAM3 signaling, enabling faster time-to-market for high-performance computing, gaming, and AI platforms requiring advanced memory interfaces.
