The city of Santa Clarita is hosting its first-ever 'Tree-mendous Arbor Day' celebration on Saturday, April 11th from 10am to 2pm at Valencia Heritage Park. The free, community event will feature a tree planting ceremony, giveaways of 400 free trees and mulch, live chainsaw carving demonstrations, hydrogen-powered bus displays, and various other activities focused on environmental education and appreciation of the city's urban forestry.

The Tree-mendous Arbor Day celebration will kick off with a ceremonial tree planting led by the Santa Clarita City Council, followed by volunteers planting 10 new trees throughout the park. Urban Forestry experts will be on hand to provide free trees and mulch, as well as personalized consultations to help residents select the best trees for their homes. Other activities include an Adopt-a-Plant station from SCV Water, adoptable dogs from the Castaic Animal Care Center, a live chainsaw carving demonstration, and displays of the city's new hydrogen-powered buses.
