2026 Toyota C-HR Promises Compact, Sporty, Practical Fun

The most compact of the bZ lineup, the specs say, 'Drive me!'

Published on Feb. 22, 2026

Toyota is adding the sporty C-HR to its compact EV crossover lineup. With 338 hp and all-wheel drive standard, the C-HR will outperform many competitors in the class. It arrives in showrooms next month priced at $38,450.

Why it matters

The C-HR was a popular compact crossover when it was offered with an internal combustion engine from 2018-2022. Toyota is now electrifying the model, bringing its sporty handling and compact size to the EV market, where it will compete with other small, fun-to-drive electric crossovers.

The details

The all-electric C-HR sits on the same Toyota e-TNGA battery electric vehicle platform as the bZ and bZ Woodland models. It features dual-motor all-wheel drive and 338 combined system horsepower, allowing for a 0-60 mph time of just 4.9 seconds. The C-HR has a 74.7-kWh battery (67-kWh usable) that provides an EPA-estimated 287 miles of range. Inside, it offers up to 25.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, expandable to 59.5 cubic feet with the 60/40 split-folding rear seats folded flat.
