The U.S. Women's National Team is set to conclude its annual January camp with a friendly match against Chile on Tuesday. The USWNT is riding a five-game winning streak and is looking to keep the momentum going heading into its second match of the year.
Why it matters
The match against Chile will be the USWNT's last contest before the team competes in the 11th annual SheBelieves Cup in March, as well as a triple-header against rival Japan in April. A win would mark the team's longest winning streak since 2024, when they won nine straight matches including their Gold Medal Olympics run.
The details
The USWNT is coming off an exciting 6-0 win over Paraguay on Saturday, which featured several players earning their first caps and first goals for the national team. Head coach Emma Hayes said she plans to have a different starting lineup and make a maximum number of substitutions against Chile, leaving the door open for even more players to make their international debuts.
