San Luis Obispo police arrested a 30-year-old transient man, Jyerick Zane Nebeker, after he allegedly threatened another person with scissors, threw a rock at the victim, resisted arrest, and assaulted a sheriff's K-9 dog during the incident at Laguna Lake Park.

When officers arrived, Nebeker refused to comply and fled into the reeds at the south end of Laguna Lake. A sheriff's K-9 was sent in to apprehend Nebeker, at which point he allegedly started hitting the dog. Officers intervened and were able to take Nebeker into custody, though he continued to resist and had to be treated at a local hospital for a dog bite before being booked into jail.
