The San Luis Obispo County Airport (SBP) is opening a new premium parking lot with 60 additional spaces, located right next to the terminal. The new lot is part of the airport's efforts to expand access and convenience for travelers as passenger activity continues to grow.
Why it matters
The premium parking lot provides an option for travelers who value proximity to the terminal, while the airport maintains a range of parking choices to serve the broader community. The expansion comes as the airport saw record-breaking passenger numbers in 2025, with an 8.7% increase from the previous year.
The details
The new premium parking lot is located just steps away from the terminal near the rental car counters and baggage claim. It was previously used as a rental car return lot. The addition of the premium lot brings the total number of parking spaces at the airport to just under 700. Premium parking will cost $35 per day, while the airport's four other lots will continue to be $25 per day.
- The new premium parking lot is scheduled to open on Monday, Feb. 9, 2026.
- In 2025, the San Luis Obispo County Airport saw 811,905 passengers, a record-breaking 8.7% increase from the previous year.
