Adalo, a no-code app building platform, has launched Ada - an AI-powered tool that can generate a complete multi-screen app, including database structure, navigation, and working UI, based on a plain-language description. Unlike other AI coding tools, Ada's output is directly integrated into Adalo's visual canvas, allowing users to point at elements and instruct the AI to make changes without writing prompts or editing code.
Why it matters
This launch represents a significant advancement in no-code app development, as it combines the speed and power of AI-generated apps with the visual control and customization that Adalo's platform is known for. By eliminating the need to manage underlying code, Ada makes app building accessible to a wider range of users, including entrepreneurs and business teams who may not have traditional software development skills.
The details
Ada is built around three key capabilities: Magic Start, which generates a full app structure from a plain-language description; Magic Add, which extends an existing app by building new features based on natural language input; and X-Ray, which analyzes a live app and surfaces performance improvements. After the AI generates the initial app, users can visually direct changes on the same canvas, resizing buttons, moving lists, and updating colors without writing code. The output is true native iOS and Android apps, not web wrappers.
- Ada is available now at adalo.com.
- Adalo 3.0, the infrastructure overhaul that enabled Ada, was completed in late 2025.
The players
Adalo
A no-code app building platform that allows entrepreneurs and business teams to design, build, and publish custom database-driven apps without writing any code.
James Crennan
The CEO of Adalo, who emphasized that Ada's combination of AI generation and visual control is what makes app building accessible for non-developers.
What they’re saying
“Most AI app tools today are really just fast ways to generate a codebase you then have to manage. Ada is different because the AI and the builder are working on the same visual canvas. You can see every screen at once, point at what you want to change, and publish a real native app to the App Store without touching code. That combination of AI generation and visual control is what makes apps actually buildable for people who aren't developers.”
— James Crennan, CEO of Adalo (Adalo)
What’s next
Adalo plans to continue expanding the capabilities of Ada, with a focus on making app building even more accessible and intuitive for non-technical users.
The takeaway
Adalo's launch of Ada represents a significant step forward in the no-code app development space, combining the speed and power of AI-generated apps with the visual control and customization that Adalo's platform is known for. This innovation has the potential to make app building accessible to a wider range of users, including entrepreneurs and business teams who may not have traditional software development skills.
