Pentadata Inc. and Esusu, a leading rental data and rent reporting platform, have announced a strategic partnership to integrate Esusu's verified rental payment data into Pentadata's unified financial data infrastructure. This will allow lenders, banks, and fintechs to access rental, banking, and credit data through a single API, enabling more accurate risk assessment, broader credit access, and stronger financial inclusion.
Why it matters
Incorporating rental payment history into credit decisioning is a growing trend, as it provides a more complete picture of consumer financial health, especially for underserved populations. This partnership aims to make it easier for financial institutions to leverage this data and expand access to credit responsibly.
The details
Through the partnership, Pentadata will embed Esusu's rental data into its 'financial data aggregator of aggregators' model, which unifies open banking data from leading providers. This will allow lenders to seamlessly access verified rent payment history alongside bank transaction and credit data through a single, standardized API. On average, Esusu renters see a 53-point increase in their credit score, unlocking $77 billion in credit, including $49 billion in mortgages.
