The AI Native Accounting Foundation has officially launched as an independent nonprofit initiative focused on helping the accounting and finance profession understand how artificial intelligence is being used in practice. The Foundation aims to move the profession past AI hype and into real-world understanding by creating space for honest dialogue, shared learning, and visible examples of AI adoption within accounting, tax, audit, advisory, and finance teams.
Why it matters
The accounting and finance profession is facing significant changes due to the adoption of AI, but much of the conversation has been driven by tools and announcements rather than real-world outcomes. The AI Native Accounting Foundation seeks to provide a neutral space for the profession to have honest discussions, share learnings, and showcase credible examples of how firms and finance teams are navigating this shift.
The details
The AI Native Accounting Foundation was founded by Kacee Johnson and Bebe Kim. It builds on the success of the AI Native Accounting Podcast, which features candid conversations with firm leaders, technologists, educators, and industry thought leaders. The Foundation will expand this work through recognition programs, research initiatives, and scholarships to help the profession learn and move forward together. The Foundation's work spans the full financial profession, including accounting, tax, audit, advisory, and finance, as they all face similar systems-level changes due to AI adoption.
- The AI Native Accounting Foundation officially launched on February 11, 2026.
- Nominations for the inaugural AI Native Accounting Awards are now open and will close on April 15, 2026.
- The AI Native Accounting Award winners will be recognized at the Scaling New Heights Conference, taking place June 14–16, 2026, in Orlando, FL.

What they’re saying
“AI is already reshaping how financial work gets done. But too much of the conversation is still driven by tools and announcements rather than outcomes. This Foundation is about getting real, learning from what's working, what's breaking, and how firms are navigating this shift day to day.”
— Kacee Johnson, Co-founder and Executive Director of the AI Native Accounting Foundation (natlawreview.com)
“This isn't just an accounting conversation. Tax, audit, advisory, and finance leaders are facing the same systems-level changes. The Foundation exists to surface real examples and create shared understanding — not theory, not marketing, but lived experience.”
— Bebe Kim, Co-founder of the AI Native Accounting Foundation (natlawreview.com)
“The profession needs neutral spaces for real conversations about AI in practice. We're proud to support the AI Native Accounting Foundation as its founding sponsor and help enable work that brings clarity and credibility to how AI is changing accounting and finance.”
— Jeff Seibert, CEO and Founder of Digits (natlawreview.com)
What’s next

The takeaway
The AI Native Accounting Foundation is providing a much-needed neutral platform for the accounting and finance profession to have honest dialogues, share learnings, and showcase real-world examples of how AI is transforming the industry. By focusing on outcomes rather than hype, the Foundation aims to equip firms and finance teams to confidently navigate the adoption of AI.
