The season will feature new plays, festivals, and commissions that highlight Middle Eastern and SWANA (Southwest Asia and North Africa) artists and stories. The 2026 season will include the world premiere of Denmo Ibrahim's play "Arab Spring," co-produced with SFBATCO, which examines family, grief, and memory through the story of two siblings. The season will also feature the return of Golden Thread's signature "ReOrient Festival of Short Plays" and a special "What Do the Women Say?: 30th Anniversary Edition" event co-produced with Brava Theater Center. Additionally, the company will commission playwright Abhishek Majumdar to develop a new work inspired by the real-life story of a man imprisoned at Guantánamo Bay.
