RT Bistro, the latest opening from chefs Sarah and Evan Rich, offers a middle ground between their popular restaurants Rich Table and RT Rotisserie. The new spot features a number of well-priced dishes, including a take on the classic French duck l'orange that incorporates Asian flavors, as well as a beloved off-menu burger that has found a permanent home at the bistro.

Why it matters

The opening of RT Bistro represents the Riches' continued expansion in the San Francisco dining scene, catering to a range of customer preferences from fast-casual to high-end. The return of the exclusive off-menu burger also satisfies longtime Rich Table diners who have been clamoring for its revival.

The details

RT Bistro's menu features a variety of dishes, including a vegetable take on honey walnut shrimp called sweet potato tempura, and the S.F. Duck 'L'Orange' which puts an Asian spin on the classic French dish. The restaurant also offers the dried porcini doughnuts, a Rich Table favorite, served with Douglas fir ranch and kaluga caviar. In addition to the food menu, RT Bistro sells a selection of goods to take home, such as the chefs' own chile crunch, umami powder, and cultured butter.
