Signals Group, a media and research firm focused on kidney health, innovation, and policy, has announced its membership in the Coalition for Kidney Health (C4KH), a multistakeholder initiative convened by the National Kidney Foundation to improve early detection and management of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in the United States.

Why it matters

CKD is deeply intertwined with other chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease, affecting nearly 90% of U.S. adults. However, 37 million Americans living with CKD remain largely undiagnosed. The Coalition for Kidney Health aims to shift the paradigm from reactive treatment of kidney failure to proactive prevention, screening, and coordinated care across the continuum.

The details

As a member of the C4KH, Signals Group will contribute its editorial and research platforms, engaged audience of clinicians, advocates, innovators, and policymakers, and deep knowledge of the emerging kidney and cardiometabolic health landscape to support the coalition's 2026 agenda. This includes securing a USPSTF screening recommendation for CKD, expanding kidney disease screening measures, advancing a next-generation kidney care model within CMMI's specialty care strategy, and pressing for policy changes to expand access to Medical Nutrition Therapy and Kidney Disease Education.

  • The C4KH was convened by the National Kidney Foundation in 2025.
  • Signals Group announced its membership in the coalition on April 2, 2026.

What they’re saying

“In the United States, 37 million people are living with chronic kidney disease, yet most remain undiagnosed. Addressing this gap requires better alignment across clinicians, patients, policymakers, and innovators. The Coalition for Kidney Health is bringing those voices together to drive earlier detection and more coordinated care, and partners like Signals Group play an important role in translating complex science and policy into insights that can improve care at scale.”

— Miriam Godwin, Vice President of Health Policy, National Kidney Foundation

“We built Signals Group around a simple conviction: that kidney disease does not get the attention it deserves, and that closing that gap requires better communication across every part of the ecosystem. The Coalition is shaping what the next decade of CKM care looks like. We're proud to be part of that work.”

Signals Group intends to contribute to these efforts through its editorial and research platforms, engaged audience, and deep knowledge of the emerging kidney and cardiometabolic health landscape.

The takeaway

By joining the Coalition for Kidney Health, Signals Group is poised to play a key role in driving greater awareness, early detection, and coordinated care for the 37 million Americans living with chronic kidney disease, a condition deeply linked to other chronic conditions like diabetes and heart disease.
