After three weeks of play in the 2026 NWSL season, only one team remains undefeated - Angel City FC. The Los Angeles-based club has jumped to the top of the power rankings after a perfect 3-0-0 start. Meanwhile, the San Diego Wave and Seattle Reign have also made big moves up the rankings with strong performances.
Why it matters
The NWSL is one of the most competitive women's professional soccer leagues in the world, and the early season power rankings provide insight into which teams are emerging as the frontrunners for the NWSL Shield. Angel City's undefeated start is particularly impressive, as only eight teams in league history have achieved that feat to begin a season.
The details
In Matchweek 3, Angel City defeated the Houston Dash 2-1 after falling behind early. Sveindís Jónsdóttir scored a stunning equalizer for Angel City in that match. The San Diego Wave also had a strong week, winning three matches in seven days, including a midweek victory over the Portland Thorns. The Seattle Reign, playing their home matches in Spokane due to Lumen Field hosting the 2026 World Cup, picked up two wins from two outings in their new stadium.
- Matchweek 3 results were played over the past week, with midweek and weekend matches.
