The United States Postal Service has released a new set of 'Lowrider Forever' Forever stamps, featuring photographs of five classic lowrider car models from Southern California. The stamps celebrate the unique artistry and culture of the lowrider community, which has roots in working-class Mexican American and Chicano neighborhoods across the American Southwest.
Why it matters
Lowrider culture is an important part of the Chicano and Mexican American experience in the United States, particularly in cities like Los Angeles. These new stamps from the USPS help recognize and preserve this vibrant automotive art form that has been marginalized in the past.
The details

Each car is given a unique name, like 'Let the Good Times Roll/Soy Como Soy' and 'The Golden Rose'. The stamps were designed by art director Antonio Alcala using photographs by Humberto 'Beto' Mendoza and Philip Gorden, with additional artwork by Danny Alvarado.
